how about me? Mr Obama........

TOKYO (Dow Jones)--The U.S. government is considering inviting Thailand and Singapore to the Group of 20 Summit meeting to be held in Pittsburgh later this month, to seek more input from developing countries on matters such as global warming and financial regulation, the Nikkei reported Monday, without citing sources.

The U.S. will consider Thailand as the representative of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, and Singapore as the representative of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, or APEC, the business newspaper said.

It said that inviting Thailand and Singapore may also be aimed at countering the increased influence of European participants of the G20.

The G20 comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the U.K., the U.S. and the European Union. The Pittsburgh G20 Summit is scheduled to be held on Sept. 24-25.
